Remote Learning

Providing Support:

During these uncertain times, whilst steering through the current pandemic, it is crucial that we evolve as a school to ensure our pupils are fully supported both emotionally and intellectually.  At St Thomas', we are committed to ensuring that our pupils receive that help, by providing excellent teaching and support both online and at school.  In addition to providing a programme of full-time online learning and high quality education enabling our children to get back on track, we recognise the value of providing our children and their families with emotional support to alleviate the pressure that inevitably accompanies a national lockdown. Our dedicated Leadership Team and teaching staff make regular contact with our families, offering advice and guidance where needed and putting measures in place to support those in need.

We recognise that learning from home will not always be straightforward, with multiple family members needing to work and study simultaneously in the same space. Following our survey in the summer of 2020, we were able to identify which children needed IT support; this resulted in the purchase of 21 pupil laptops both DFE and privately funded.

Platforms Used:

Pupils in Early Years and Key Stage One use Tapestry

Pupils in Key Stage Two use Microsoft Teams and Seesaw

For comprehensive information on remote education and how we support our pupils, please refer to the Remote Learning Information attachment below and to our Remote Learning Policy.
