Charitable Fund Raising

At St. Thomas of Canterbury, we believe in nurturing compassionate hearts and fostering a sense of responsibility towards our global community. As part of our commitment to instill these values in our pupils, we actively engage in fundraising efforts to support various worthy charities.

For the year 2023/2024 The St Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust has collectively chosen to support the charity 'Across'. Watch this space for our future fundraising plans!

Across

In the academic year 2022/23, we are proud to share our accomplishments in raising funds for incredible causes including:

Shelter:

We held a "Bring and Buy" sale and through our collective efforts, we raised £117 for Shelter, a charity which helps the homeless.

Jenes for Genes:

Every year, we support the Jeans for Genes charity and we will be doing so again in October 2023.  Last academic year, we raised £142 by making a donation for wearing jeans into school.

Children in Need:

A further "Bring and Buy Sale" in November raised £130 for Children in Need, a charity which helps to fund grassroots organisations and project workers in every corner of the UK, providing the vital relationships and support to help children in the greatest need.

Save the Children:

Our annual "Wear a Christmas Jumper" day in December raised £76.50 for Save the Children, who provide life-saving, long term help, working alongside children in 115 countries, including the UK.

The British Red Cross:

The catastrophic damage and vast humanitarian need following the earthquakes of February 23in Syria and Turkey, we raised an incredible £373 for the British Red Cross.

Comic Relief:

In March 2023, we supported "Red Nose Day" with a Danceathon, which proved incredibly popular and raised a fantastic amount of money.  We were very proud to donate £430.50 to Comic Relief who make a difference to millions of people across the UK and around the world.

Catholic Children's Society

We rounded off the year by donating the contents of our Lent boxes - a grand total of £280.50 was raised for the Catholic Children's Society who support disadvantaged children and families across London, Hertfordshire and the South East.

The academic year 2022/23 was a year of remarkable achievements and a testament to the collective power of compassion, determination, and community spirit. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our pupils, parents, staff, and community members who contributed to our fundraising initiatives. Your support has illuminated countless lives and reminds us of the impact we can create when we come together for a common cause.

As we move forward, our commitment to positive change remains unwavering. Together, we will continue to support causes that embody the values of empathy, responsibility, and kindness. Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming fundraising efforts and be a part of our journey to make a difference.

Thank you for being a vital part of the St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School's charity fundraising mission. Your generosity and dedication make the world a brighter place for us all.
